Sunstone Water Group and its partnership with GTMS Industrial Investment Service Group aims at identifying drinking water projects in China. This partnership has yielded it’s first project whose goals are to provide a rural village and its 9000 inhabitants with clean drinking water. Sunstone’s Clean Water Unit shall also operate as a show case and demonstration towards Chinese officials who help implement national initiatives locally.
The village is located in the Northern part of the Island of Chongming; the second largest island in the Peoples Republic of China – a short 1 hour’s drive from Shanghai. The water intake will be pumped directly from a local river at the Yangtze delta.
Sunstone Water Group sees great potential for its offering in China; Last year the Chinese government released its Water Pollution Action Plan for massive upgrade in the water sector with the purpose of elevating the water quality in its river basins by 2030. Much of the investment is anticipated to be done by partnerships with international companies.
According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP), reaching the targets for the next five years will require the direct purchase of treatment products and services exceeding $230 billion and an indirect investment of $80.6 billion.
